The United States has proposed a trilateral meeting with Ukraine and Russia in the United Arab Emirates to discuss efforts to end the ongoing conflict, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This initiative follows discussions between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where they focused on potential solutions to the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky stated that the US suggested a technical-level meeting in a three-way format, with a proposed date expected to be provided by Washington. The UAE has been identified as a potential venue for these talks. The proposal signifies an effort by the United States to mediate discussions aimed at resolving the conflict, which has been a significant point of geopolitical tension.
Further discussions on the trilateral meeting have already begun between Ukrainian and US negotiators. Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine plans to consult with its European partners, while the United States would engage with Russia before moving forward with any detailed discussions.
